Maker Movement: Art and Craft of the New Economy
Prof. Yibei Liu, Ken Panko, Prof. Ajay Mathuru, Nishant Jalgaonkar, Nabila Binte Abu Talib, Md Shafei Bin Seri, Zhana Sandeva
From September 23 - 30 a team from NUS Yale was exploring the maker movement in Singapore. The aim was to look at the movement from an interdisciplinary angle – social, economic, technical, etc. and to introduce students to various aspects of the maker economy. That included meeting with makers, entrepreneurs, innovators, private companies and government bodies. The students were also actively engaged in making through workshops in woodworking, 3D printing, laser cutting and others.
